Angel Time

They/All/Any

My name is Malaika, aka Angel Time. I am a queer non-binary Egyptian immigrant artist and SWer with disabilities. In my life I have navigated many obstacles and traumatic experiences which led to finding my passion in community organizing and harm reduction, work that I deeply value and prioritise. In 2021, I started a grassroots group called Real Change (@444realchange) which brings together community members to organize park events where we serve home cooked meals, bring essential donations, and support our precariously housed neighbours by showing up in caring ways. This actually began by using my unused foodbank portions to cook and share meals with people who needed it in my area, and continued even while I was temporarily unhoused. As a survivor of abuse, art has been a safe space for me to process my emotions, listen to my body, release negativity, and translate my pain into a piece of work outside of myself that I can take apart and interact with to help guide my healing. I love exploring various mediums such as poetry, photography, photo- editing, creative directing, fashion, and painting. As I continue on my healing journey, I hope to share more insight on my experiences with people and raise awareness about these struggles. I also wish to connect with more community members and find better ways to create support systems for each other. #landback #freecongo #freepalestine #freesudan #wekeepussafe instagram @f3ld0unyaw3lm0ut paypal.me/xosumerlovexo”
