Seedy Saturday is back again for 2011, this time with 2 exciting new venues. Here is the blurb from the Toronto Community Garden Network.
Seedy Sunday is the beginning of the new gardening season for hundreds of avid Toronto gardeners as they earnestly start preparing. The event provides gardeners with an opportunity to learn more about gardening, hone and share their gardening skills, and buy or exchange vegetable and flower seeds. We are seeking to ensure that there is an ample supply of heritage and organic seeds available for our guests, as well as providing opportunities for merchants and groups to display and sell their organic gardening supplies, soil amendments, tools and resources. Environmental organizations and community groups are invited to have information tables on topics of interest to gardeners. And, as always, there will be food and beverage stands to enhance the overall experience and atmosphere.
As those of you who attended last year’s Seedy Saturday (on a Sunday!) at the Wychwood Barns will recall, we had an overwhelming turn-out! As a result, this year’s organizers have decided to continue with the event on a Sunday, even with a change of venue. This year we are trying out the Hart House at the main U of T campus.
