Start off the New Year by becoming part of North America’s first Youth Food Policy Council! The TYFPC will hold its first 2011 Community Meeting on Monday January 10th, from 6:00-8:00 at Metro Hall room 308. After experiencing the generosity and compassion of the holiday season, it’s important to consider Toronto’s most vulnerable populations – those who are hungry and food insecure. So, the theme of January’s meeting will be “Food Deserts, Hunger and Poverty”. Our “Apple of the Month” Hannah Bontogon of the Bathurst-Finch Food Action Team will be our guest Youth presenter, and members of the TYFPC will lead us through a open discussion about the issues that are most important to Toronto’s food passionate Youth Community Following the meeting, the TYFPC will develop a policy position paper which we will present to the Toronto Food Policy Council at the next formal meeting.
